New e-Tourist Visa for Tai­wan

Start­ing to­day, Aug. 15, ap­pli­cants from Tai­wan can ap­ply online for an e-Tourist Visa (e-TV) for recre­ation, sight­see­ing, meet­ing friends or rel­a­tives, short du­ra­tion med­i­cal treat­ment or ca­sual busi­ness vis­its in In­dia. The e-TV is sin­gleen­try, valid up to 30 days, non-ex­tend­able and non-con­vert­ible. The pre­scribed fee of US$60 per per­son (ex­clud­ing in­ter­change charges for credit/debit cards) is to be paid online.

The online ap­pli­ca­tion should be made at least four days in ad­vance of the date of ar­rival in In­dia. An e-TV au­tho­riza­tion will be sent to the email ID pro­vided by the ap­pli­cant. The visi­tor is ex­pected to travel to In­dia with this au­tho­riza­tion along with a pass­port with min­i­mum six-month va­lid­ity.

The e-TV au­tho­riza­tion can be used only at des­ig­nated in­ter­na­tional air­ports, which at the mo­ment are Delhi, Mum­bai, Chen­nai, Kolkata, Tri­van­drum, Ban­ga­lore, Hy­der­abad, Kochi, Goa, Ahmed­abad, Amritsar, Gaya, Jaipur, Lucknow, Thiruchi­ra­palli and Varanasi.
