Ex­hi­bi­tion mark­ing end of war against Ja­pan opens at Armed Forces Mu­seum

An ex­hi­bi­tion mark­ing the 70th an­niver­sary of the end of the Re­pub­lic of China’s war against Ja­pan in 1945 will be held at Academia His­tor­ica and the Armed Forces Mu- seum in Taipei from Aug. 15 to Nov. 28.

Pres­i­dent Ma Ying- jeou will at­tend the open­ing cer­e­mony of the spe­cial ex­hi­bi­tion, ti­tled “From War To Peace” in Chi- nese, as a spe­cial guest.

Also at­tend­ing will be de­scen­dants of the mar­tyrs of the Sec­ond Sino- Ja­panese War ( 1937- 1945), history ex­perts and scholars, and pri­vate col­lec­tors of cul­tural and his­tor­i­cal relics re­lated to the war, ac­cord­ing to the or­ga­niz­ers.

The show is be­ing or­ga­nized by Academia His­tor­ica, the Min­istry of Na­tional De­fense and the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion to mark the con­clu­sion of the war of re­sis­tance against Ja­pan, which co­in­cided with the end of World War II, and the end of Ja­panese colo­nial rule over Tai­wan.
