Taiwan in final of Junior World Series in Michigan
Taiwan defeated Puerto Rico 6-0 in the 2015 Junior League Baseball World Series in Michigan on Saturday, finishing at the top of the international group and advancing to the final, which will be held Sunday.
Taiwan took a 2-0 lead in the second inning and scored another four runs in the third inning.
Taiwan’s pitcher Lee Chungyi finished the seven innings with 75 pitches and six strikeouts.
The tournament, one of the Little League Baseball competitions, features five international teams and five American teams.
The two groups play round robins, with the two teams with the best record in each group vying for the title on Aug. 23.
