Hugh Jack­man to bring Broad­way to Aus­tralia with a per­sonal show

Hol­ly­wood star Hugh Jack­man re­vealed Mon­day he will re­turn to the stage in a per­sonal show in Aus­tralia inspired by his suc­cess­ful Broad­way per­for­mances.

The Aus­tralian, best known for his role of Wolver­ine in the “XMen” movies, said “Broad­way to Oz” would be an “in­ti­mate look at my life, the stuff that I love.”

“It’s pretty much all about me,” the Golden Globe, Emmy and Tony Award win­ner told re­porters in Syd­ney. “You are go­ing to get to know the real me in that show. I will tell you what it’s like be­ing in my shoes.”

The show will be based on his 2011 Broad­way show, “Hugh Jack­man: Back on Broad­way” and will map his jour­ney from Aus­tralia to Hol­ly­wood as well as pay trib­ute to clas­sic mu­si­cals.

“I’m a big lover of movie mu­si­cals,” Jack­man said, nam­ing “Singing in the Rain” as the great­est in that cat­e­gory.

The 46-year-old said it had al­ways been his in­ten­tion to bring the Broad­way show to Aus­tralia, say­ing “the end game for me was be­ing here.”

Fea­tur­ing 150 dancers, mu­si­cians, singers and a choir, the show will tour Mel­bourne, Syd­ney, Bris­bane, Ade­laide and Perth in Novem­ber and De­cem­ber.
