Chi­nese pi­anist Lang Lang to per­form in Taipei Dec.

Renowned Chi­nese pi­anist Lang Lang will give a recital in Taipei Dec. 16, per­form­ing a va­ri­ety of clas­si­cal pi­ano pieces.

He will play Tchaikovsky’s “The Sea­sons, Op. 37a,” Bach’s “Ital­ian Con­certo in F ma­jor, BWV 971” and Chopin’s “Four Scher­zos” at the Na­tional Con­cert Hall, ac­cord­ing to the man­age­ment of New Arts, the or­ga­nizer of the con­cert.

Lang Lang has vis­ited Tai­wan sev­eral times and has per­formed all over the coun­try.

The pi­anist started play­ing at the age of three and gave his first public recital at the age of five.

In 1994, Lang Lang won first prize at the Et­tlin­gen In­ter­na­tional Com­pe­ti­tion for Young Pi­anists in Ger­many. The fol­low­ing year, he won the In­ter­na­tional Tchaikovsky Com­pe­ti­tion for Young Mu­si­cians in Ja­pan. He made his Carnegie Hall de­but in New York City in 2001.
