Juventus keeper picks his favourite for Champions League final
ATLETICO Madrid will play against Real Madrid in the Champions League final and Los Colchoneros can count on the support of Gianluigi Buffon as they prepare to avenge their 4-1 defeat two years ago.
Under the coaching of Diego Simeone the Rojiblancos have reached their second final in three years and Buffon is an admirer of the team’s work ethic and pragmatic approach.
“If there is divine justice, Atletico will win,” the Juventus captain said last Wednesday. “Two years ago, Atletico lost in a dramatic and unfortunate way, conceding a goal scored by Sergio Ramos in injury time. I strongly believe in getting revenge when life offers it to you.
“It will be tough because Real have greater experience in this type of games and they are the favourites but it would not surprise me if Atletico win because with their way of playing, their organisation and their tenacity.
“They are the most difficult team to beat. I was very upset two years for the way in which they lost, they were really unlucky.”
The 2015/16 Champions League final will be played at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan on May 28.
