Hand­made co­conut graters have long been an im­por­tant cook­ing uten­sil in most kitchens in the South. An event at a Bud­dhist tem­ple in Songkhla’s Ranot district on Mon­day pro­vided clear ev­i­dence of the con­tin­u­ing pop­u­lar­ity of co­conut graters “with a dif­fer­ence” in the re­gion.

A pickup driver was in­jured on Mon­day in a spec­tac­u­lar ac­ci­dent that saw his truck lit­er­ally fly off the road and land in elec­tri­cal wires. The driver, iden­ti­fied as Saran At-maen, was in­jured in the mishap and taken to hos­pi­tal, po­lice said.
