FAO names new assistant-director
UNITED NATIONS: The head of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Qu Dongyu, has named Jong-Jin Kim as an assistant director-general of the United Nations body and its regional representative for Asia and the Pacific.
Mr Kim, a South Korean national, has a long and distinguished career in public service. He joined the FAO in 2013 as director of the South-South Cooperation and Resource Mobilization Division. Immediately prior to his appointment, he served as FAO’s deputy regional representative for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok.
