Energy & Environment
On July 15th, the committee met at the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok to hear about Thailand’s Integrated Energy Blueprint from the Ministry of Energy. On July 17, the Committee met at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit to hear about “Generation Y - Is there really a difference?” from Dr. Malinvisa Sakdiyakornm, Lecturer at Mahidol University International College; Katie Wooderson, Human Resources Manager, Chevron; and Anyada Assavabhokhin, Strategy and Innovation Consultant at APM Group. On July 20, the committee met at Plaza Athénée Bangkok to learn about Easing Business Regulations & Upgrading Transparency: The Licensing Facilitation Act from Pakorn Nilprapunt and Chintapun Dansubutra, Law Councilors at the Office of the Council of State. On July 17 at the Drum Room, Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya, the British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand ( BCCT) hosted an Eastern Seaboard networking night in conjunction with AMCHAM, Austcham, and the German, South African and Belgian Chambers of Commerce in Thailand. On July 23, the Chapter met at Jazzy Brick ( Bar and Restaurant) in Vientiane, Lao PDR, for their monthly networking night. On August 13, the committee gathered at the AMCHAM Citi Boardroom to hear about new developments at the Thai Food and Drug Administration ( FDA) and the Department of Livestock. On July 29, the Young Professionals Committee and friends gathered at Sonie Sushi & Bar for a social networking night. On August 6, the committee, in conjunction with the British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand ( BCCT), met at the JW Marriot Hotel to hear a presentation on Logistics & Infrastructure Development by Dr. Ruth Banomyong, Head of the Department of International Business, Logistics and Transport Management at the Faculty of Commerce & Accountancy, Thammasat University. On August 14, the committee met at the COFFEEWORKS Experience Center to learn about the success story behind COFFEEWORKS from Dale Lee, Co- Founder and Managing Director, and Andrew Stotz, Co- Founder and Finance Director of COFFEEWORKS.
