GRE­GORY M. WONG

As Com­mer­cial Coun­selor and Se­nior Com­mer­cial Of­fi­cer of the U. S. Em­bassy in Bangkok, Greg leads a team of 18 ex­perts who spe­cial­ize in build­ing prof­itable busi­ness part­ner­ships be­tween Thai and Amer­i­can en­trepreneurs. Greg wel­comes AMCHAM mem­bers’ in­quiries for ser­vice.

Greg grad­u­ated from Har­vard Univer­sity ( MPA), and the Univer­sity of Hawaii ( MBA). He has served as Com­mer­cial Of­fi­cer in Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Hawaii, Hanoi, Iraq, Tai­wan, and Guangzhou and holds rank of Min­is­ter- Coun­selor in the U. S. Se­nior For­eign Ser­vice. Greg also worked for Jockey In­ter­na­tional, World Trade Cen­ter – St. Louis, was a Peace Corps vol­un­teer in Bu­rundi, Ad­vi­sor to the UN High Com­mis­sion for Refugees in Rwanda, and Board Chair for an or­ga­ni­za­tion that sup­ported five or­phan­ages in Viet­nam.

Greg’s awards in­clude a Gold Medal from the U. S. Sec­re­tary of Commerce ( the high­est award be­stowed by the U. S. Depart­ment of Commerce), and he was named a Lit­tauer Fel­low as one of the Top 15 stu­dent lead­ers in his grad­u­at­ing class from Har­vard. He has com­pleted ba­sic Thai lan­guage train­ing at Chu­la­longkorn Univer­sity and will be in Thai­land through 2019.
