YPC School Ded­i­ca­tion Tour in Kan­chanaburi

Ev­ery year the Young Pro­fes­sion­als Com­mit­tee ( YPC) con­trib­utes funds gath­ered at the YPC net­work­ing events and so­cial nights to­wards needy school projects through­out Thai­land. This year YPC made their do­na­tions to­wards Ban­maipat­tana School in Sangkhlaburi, in Kan­chanaburi Prov­ince, a school si­t­u­ated on the boarder of Thai­land and Myan­mar with stu­dents from a di­verse eth­nic blend: Burmese, Karen, Mon, Thai and some Lao. The do­na­tion was used for 2 school projects – a Brain Based Learn­ing ( BBL) Play­ground which is a fun, ed­u­ca­tional play­ground made out of re­cy­cled ma­te­ri­als, and an or­ganic farm­ing pro­ject to cre­ate a sus­tain­able food source for the school lunch pro­gram. The to­tal con­tri­bu­tion was Baht 247,500.

On Novem­ber 13, YPC lead­ers and the AMCHAM team at­tended the ded­i­ca­tion cer­e­mony held at Ban­maipat­tana School. The cer­e­mony show­cased tra­di­tional danc­ing, wel­com­ing mes­sages in dif­fer­ent lan­guages, stu­dents play­ing on the newly- con­structed play­ground and lunch pro­vided by the school us­ing in­gre­di­ents from the or­ganic farm. The YPC team and their fam­ily mem­bers joined with the AMCHAM team, the school prin­ci­pal and OBEC rep­re­sen­ta­tive to visit the green­house used for grow­ing veg­eta­bles and rice farm as part the school lunch or­ganic farm­ing pro­gram
