AMCHAM Executive Director’s Remarks
The Chamber’s 60th anniversary year is now coming to a close. It was certainly an honor to be able to celebrate six decades AMCHAM in Thailand and to have an opportunity to reflect on how U. S. business has positively impacted Thailand’s commercial and social environment. We had a number of signature events to celebrate this special year with the highlight being the annual AMCHAM CSR Excellence Awards ( ACE) dinner in November where we had a sold out house of over 500 people in attendance. The large turnout, coupled with the 62 companies who were recognized during the evening, truly reflects how strongly AMCHAM members believe in being good corporate citizens.
At this time of the year, we are looking for new Committee leaders to help the Chamber during 2017.
The AMCHAM leadership team comprises Committee leaders who direct the Chamber’s 23 Committees. Each year the Board of Governors appoint new Committee leaders for the coming year. If you have an interest in serving the U. S. business community and are able to devote time each month to help develop program content for the Committees, we want you! To volunteer or for more information please contact me.
I want to thank our generous 2016 Corporate Partners who are listed at the bottom of this page. I’d also like to remind you that we are now signing up 2017 Corporate Partners and a full list of benefits can be found on page 55. The Corporate Partnership package combines AMCHAM membership with sponsorship support for AMCHAM events and sports tournaments and provides for promotional space in AMCHAM media along with a number of other benefits.
The Corporate Partnership package includes sponsorship of the 2017 Governors Ball which will be held on April 22, 2017. This is one of the best galas in town and attracts more than 500 members and guests for a fun evening of dining and dancing. We will also hold a spectacular silent auction which helps support the AMCHAM Thailand Foundation and its educational programs. This year’s theme is Country Roundup and we are already planning a great night, so please mark the date.
I wish to extend my sincere gratitude and thank you to 2016 President Brad Middleton, the 2016 AMCHAM Board of Governors and Committee leaders for all the time and support they put into making the Chamber successful this year. The Chamber is only as strong as its members and I want to believe we have one of the strongest chambers in the region. A huge thank you to the U. S. Embassy for all they do for the Chamber and their continued involvement in many AMCHAM events. And, of course, a thank you to the AMCHAM staff for working many long hours behind the scenes to make everything go smoothly.
I hope everyone had a great holiday season and I look forward to seeing you in 2017. Best regards,
Judy Benn Executive Director
