Monthly Luncheon with Minister of Industry
On March 29 at the Conrad Bangkok, Dr. Uttama Savanayana, Minister of Industry, spoke to AMCHAM members about investment opportunities within the framework of Thailand 4.0, the Government’s strategy for transforming the Thai economy. Dr. Uttama focused on area- based development, particularly the Eastern Economic Corridor, and emphasized the principle of ‘ pracharat,’ or public- private partnerships, as a driving force behind implementing Thailand 4.0. The luncheon also served as AMCHAM’S Annual General Meeting at which members voted to approve the audited financial statements for AMCHAM and appointed the auditors for 2017. Additionally, AMCHAM President, Jeff Nygaard, handed out certificates of appreciation to Fedex and Seagate for committing to fund additional scholarships as part of the Adopt- a- Student program and to Raja’s Fashions, JTFP, Urai Windfield, and Fedex for their contributions to the Adopta- School program.
