Monthly Lun­cheon with Min­is­ter of In­dus­try

On March 29 at the Con­rad Bangkok, Dr. Ut­tama Sa­vanayana, Min­is­ter of In­dus­try, spoke to AMCHAM mem­bers about in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties within the frame­work of Thai­land 4.0, the Gov­ern­ment’s strat­egy for trans­form­ing the Thai econ­omy. Dr. Ut­tama fo­cused on area- based de­vel­op­ment, par­tic­u­larly the Eastern Eco­nomic Cor­ri­dor, and em­pha­sized the prin­ci­ple of ‘ pracharat,’ or pub­lic- pri­vate part­ner­ships, as a driv­ing force be­hind im­ple­ment­ing Thai­land 4.0. The lun­cheon also served as AMCHAM’S An­nual Gen­eral Meet­ing at which mem­bers voted to ap­prove the au­dited fi­nan­cial state­ments for AMCHAM and ap­pointed the au­di­tors for 2017. Ad­di­tion­ally, AMCHAM Pres­i­dent, Jeff Ny­gaard, handed out cer­tifi­cates of ap­pre­ci­a­tion to Fedex and Sea­gate for com­mit­ting to fund ad­di­tional schol­ar­ships as part of the Adopt- a- Stu­dent pro­gram and to Raja’s Fash­ions, JTFP, Urai Wind­field, and Fedex for their con­tri­bu­tions to the Adopta- School pro­gram.
