An­nual APCAC Door­knock in Wash­ing­ton, D. C.

From June 19- 22, del­e­gates from the Amer­i­can Chambers of Com­merce in the Asia- Pa­cific vis­ited Wash­ing­ton, D. C. for the an­nual Asia Pa­cific Coun­cil of Amer­i­can Chambers of Com­merce ( APCAC) Door­knock. The del­e­ga­tion met with ex­ec­u­tive branch per­son­nel, House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tive mem­bers, Sen­a­tors, think tanks and oth­ers for dis­cus­sions on is­sues fac­ing U. S. busi­ness and U. S. cit­i­zens in the Asia- Pa­cific re­gion.

The APCAC del­e­ga­tion fo­cused on three key is­sues dur­ing their meet­ings: trade, taxes, and travel ( see op­po­site page for de­tails). Each year at the Door­knock, APCAC presents an award to de­serv­ing Wash­ing­ton- based leg­is­la­tors who help ad­vance APCAC’S agenda. This year APCAC awards were given to four U. S. Sen­a­tors and two mem­bers of the U. S. House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives: Se­na­tor Ben Cardin ( D- MD), Se­na­tor Cory Gard­ner ( R- CO), Se­na­tor Mazie Hirono ( D- HI), Se­na­tor Rob Port­man ( R- OH), Rep­re­sen­ta­tive George Hold­ing ( R- NC), and Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Kevin Mccarthy ( R- CA).
