Annual APCAC Doorknock in Washington, D. C.
From June 19- 22, delegates from the American Chambers of Commerce in the Asia- Pacific visited Washington, D. C. for the annual Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce ( APCAC) Doorknock. The delegation met with executive branch personnel, House of Representative members, Senators, think tanks and others for discussions on issues facing U. S. business and U. S. citizens in the Asia- Pacific region.
The APCAC delegation focused on three key issues during their meetings: trade, taxes, and travel ( see opposite page for details). Each year at the Doorknock, APCAC presents an award to deserving Washington- based legislators who help advance APCAC’S agenda. This year APCAC awards were given to four U. S. House of Representatives: Senator Ben Cardin ( D- MD), Senator Cory Gardner ( R- CO), Senator Mazie Hirono ( D- HI), Senator Rob Portman ( R- OH), Representative George Holding ( R- NC), and Representative Kevin Mccarthy ( R- CA).
