On May 16, AMCHAM Thai­land, in con­junc­tion with the U. S.– ASEAN Busi­ness Coun­cil ( USABC), hosted a lun­cheon brief­ing with Di­ane Far­rell, Deputy As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary for Asia at the U. S. De­part­ment of Com­merce. At­ten­dees at the brief­ing in­cluded rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Cater­pil­lar, Sea­gate, Citibank, Ford Mo­tor Com­pany, IBM, Esso, MSD, Chevron, the Asia Pa­cific Coun­cil of Amer­i­can Chambers ( APCAC), USABC, and the U. S. Em­bassy in Bangkok. The brief­ing was an in­for­ma­tion gath­er­ing dis­cus­sion and ex­change of strate­gic views and pol­icy rec­om­men­da­tions on bi­lat­eral trade re­la­tions be­tween Thai­land and the U. S., with par­tic­u­lar fo­cus on the U. S. trade deficit with Thai­land, sec­tor by sec­tor.
