Cash Payment for Stamp Duty for Company Registration Documents
On May 29, the Notification of the Director- General of the Revenue Department on Stamp Duty No. 56, dated April 27, 2017 ( the Notification) was published in the Government Gazette.
According to the Notification, payment of stamp duty for documents regarding company registration that are subject to stamp duty under the Revenue Code e. g. the Memorandum of Association, the Articles of Association, and the Power of Attorney, must be made in cash before or at least on the date of registration. This rule is enforceable for electronic company registration ( the DBD’S e- Registration) from April 18, 2017 and became effective for traditional company registration ( non- electronic company registration) on August 1, 2017.
