You’ve Got The Look
Putting on the glitz with L’Oréal Professionnel and Urban Decay
To look our best for Thailand Tatler’s Lustrous Pearlthemed 26th Anniversary Ball, we put ourselves into the capable hands of Urban Decay and L’Oréal Professionnel. What does it take to create a complexion that resembles strong, resilient and iridescent pearls? Thitiphan Viriyajit, training and field supervisor at Urban Decay, and Thanikorn Setassawakul, technical manager at L’Oréal Professionnel, tackled the theme perfectly.
Thitiphan notes that trends for this season’s hottest looks emphasize earth-tone eyeshadows and beautiful, natural-looking skin. ‘Heat’, one of Urban Decay’s four Naked eye palettes, hints at a certain hedonistic vibe and the makeup artist explains it is perfect for creating a nude, dewy look with pops of glitter. The palette features a range of matte and shimmer textures, equipping you to have lots of fun with your
appearance. The high points of the face are highlighted with the Shapeshifter contour palette to achieve a nacreous and shimmery dimension, while Urban Decay’s ‘pigment infusion system’ ensures that the product lasts throughout a dazzling night.
To complete the look, Thanikorn steps in to sculpt hair to perfection. According to the expert, the current—indeed timeless—hairstyle trend is balayage, with the principal idea being that less is more. Balayage allows for sun-kissed, effortless hair colour to suit the lifestyles of today’s strong, determined women. The expert also advises us to embrace L’Oréal Professionnel’s nude beige toning product to cancel out yellow tones in colourtreated hair. To complement the evening’s Lustrous Pearl theme, Thanikorn and his team focus on voluminous, satiny and healthy-looking hair. To achieve ocean-dipped and pearl-glazed locks, a product called Smartbond is applied to strengthen and protect hair fibres. This is in keeping with L’Oréal Professionnel’s philosophy of promoting healthy hair that endures.
Behind every dashing and elegant party-goer are hours of complete submission to the imagination of make-up artists and hairstylists. Their glamorous, charismatic mess of ideas—once exquisitely crafted into the perfect look—make the wait worthwhile.
