A fire broke out at a factory manufacturing resin fibre in Pathum Thani’s Khlong Luang district early yesterday morning.

Following the report of the fire at 1.30am, police, rescue workers and firefighters accompanied by 10 fire engines went to FRP Thai Supply Co Ltd’s factory in Soi Khlong Luang 21 in Tambon Khlong Neung.

They found a room in the factory, which was designated for painting, in flames and used water to contain the blaze, putting out the fire within an hour.

Security guard Sawat Pilun, 69, told police he had heard an explosion from the room and detected the fire before alerting police.

Khlong Luang inspector Pol Lt-Colonel Yossawat Nitirat said the fire only damaged the single room and forensic officers would inspect the scene in detail to determine the cause later yesterday.
