Tourists return in large numbers as Grand Palace reopens
Tourists flocked to Bangkok’s worldfamous attractions, the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, after their reopening to visitors yesterday.
Both were closed to visitors from October 1 to Sunday before and during the Royal Funeral and Cremation of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The Grand Palace is now open every day from 8.30am to 3.30pm. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is located within the Palace complex.
As the Grand Palace is a Royal Palace, visitors are required to dress respectfully. Men must wear long trousers and shirts with sleeves, while women must wear long dresses or trousers and cover their shoulders.
