The Min­istry of Com­merce is rush­ing to com­plete its fis­cal 2018 bud­get re­quest for no less than Bt1.5 bil­lion, with the aim of strength­en­ing pro­vin­cial economies.

Ban­jongjitt Ang­sus­ingh, com­merce spokesman, said min­istry staff were re­view­ing its pol­icy plan for the fis­cal year 2018 with the fi­nal pro­posal due for Com­merce Min­istry ap­proval in Novem­ber and Bureau of Bud­get ap­proval in De­cem­ber.

Ac­cord­ing to an anony­mous source at the min­istry, the bud­get plan would be in com­pli­ance with 27 na­tional strate­gies.

The min­istry plays a for­mal role in 11 strate­gies, in­clud­ing de­vel­op­ment of po­ten­tial in­dus­tries, agri­cul­tural pro­duc­tion, com­mu­nity op­er­a­tors and SMEs, spe­cial eco­nomic zones, Eastern Eco­nomic Cor­ri­dor, lo­gis­tics and trans­port, eco­nomic and dig­i­tal econ­omy, and sci­ence, tech­nol­ogy and re­search.
