SCG recog­nised for roof­ing prod­ucts that save en­ergy

Siam Ce­ment Group (SCG) has been awarded an “En­ergy Sav­ing La­bel” from the De­part­ment of Al­ter­na­tive En­ergy De­vel­op­ment and Ef­fi­ciency (DEDE) of the Min­istry of En­ergy. The stamp is for prod­ucts of­fer­ing high en­ergy-sav­ing per­for­mance and help­ing re­duce the na­tion’s en­ergy con­sump­tion of the na­tion.

SCG will ap­ply the la­bel across 16 prod­ucts us­ing three types of roof­ing ma­te­rial. The di­ver­si­fied ce­ment com­pany is also the first fi­bre­glass in­su­la­tion provider to re­ceive the en­ergy la­bel.

Ther­mal in­su­la­tion rep­re­sents about 10 per cent of the Bt10 bil­lion mar­ket for roof­ing prod­ucts in Thai­land this year, ac­cord­ing to a com­pany press re­lease. The com­pany sees po­ten­tial in­creas­ing growth in en­ergy-sav­ing build­ing ma­te­ri­als, said Boon­song Pi­tisukr­erk, mar­ket­ing di­rec­tor for roof and ac­ces­sories at SCG Ce­ment-Build­ing Ma­te­ri­als Co Ltd.
