MCOT launches re­vamped sched­ule for Fam­ily 14 chan­nel

MCOT Plc yes­ter­day in­tro­duced a re­vamped sched­ule for its MCOT Fam­ily 14 tele­vi­sion chan­nel, with a line-up of car­toon and an­i­ma­tion pro­grammes, Chi­nese se­ries, va­ri­ety shows and sports.

Ad­her­ing to the con­cept of youth and fam­ily, pro­grammes suit­able for all fam­ily mem­bers will ac­count for 46 per cent of the chan­nel’s con­tent pro­por­tion, in com­pli­ance with the chil­dren’s-con­tent re­quire­ments of the Na­tional Broad­cast and Telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions Com­mis­sion.

This is the first over­haul since the listed com­pany ac­quired its chil­dren’s chan­nel li­cence from the reg­u­la­tor in 2014, pres­i­dent Ke­matat Paladesh said yes­ter­day.

The new pro­gram­ming of MCOT Fam­ily 14, which comes into ef­fect next month, is ex­pected to bet­ter meet the needs of au­di­ences and in­crease view­er­ship, he said.
