War­rants is­sued for 97 sus­pected FeTÖ mem­bers

an anKara court is­sued de­ten­tion war­rants Friday for 97 peo­ple work­ing in the army avi­a­tion com­mand and other state in­sti­tu­tions for hav­ing sus­pected ties to the Gülenist Ter­ror Group (FETÖ). In one of the three cases, the court ruled for the de­ten­tion of 26 sol­diers who were in­volved in the July 15 coup at­tempt last year. The court also or­dered the de­ten­tion of 63 peo­ple who were work­ing at schools tied to FETÖ and were shut down un­der the statu­tory de­cree passed fol­low­ing the coup at­tempt. Op­er­a­tions were also launched to ap­pre­hend eight of­fi­cials at the Ed­u­ca­tion Min­istry. The sus­pects are ac­cused of us­ing the By­Lock mo­bile app that was al­legedly ex­clu­sively used by FETÖ mem­bers. The By­Lock smart­phone app is be­lieved to have been cracked by Turk­ish se­cu­rity agen­cies, al­low­ing them to iden­tify tens of thou­sands of sus­pected FETÖ sup­port­ers.
