Dutch scandal is tip of the iceberg

It is obvious that a number of European countries absolutely do not want the Turkish government to conduct a referendum campaign, simply because they do not like Turkey’s governing party anymore ... European authorities tell their Turkish communities they are European citizens ...They also claim that constantly emphasizing their Turkish origins harms their integration. When put like this, one may see some truth in it. However, we know that when the pro-Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) party travels to Europe, they are never told the same ...Perhaps the Dutch authorities imagined a Turkish minister would declare independence in the middle of Rotterdam with the Netherlands’ 400,000 Turkish citizens behind her. Who knows? European governments’ stance toward Turkish government makes its supporters even more determined to vote for their party.
