“Actually we were too small to be big and too big to be small in the past. But consumer banking and the small and medium-sized enterprise segments are highly competitive areas requiring very different strategies and business models. Besides, there are Turkish banks that are very good in those areas. That’s why we decided to focus on areas where we can create value with our brand and our global network. We developed our strategy and operations accordingly. The first results tell us we are on the right track. We don’t have any targets regarding volume or asset ratings.”
