‘Her laughter keeps me going’
Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to Anna Sergeeva, a salon worker who had moved to Dubai only months before being killed on flight FZ981. Memorials for the makeup artist and her friend Hanna Serhieieva took place at St Philip the Apostle Russian Orthodox Church in Sharjah followed by another memorial at the Russian Consulate in Dubai and also at the Enigma Salon and Spa on Al Wasl Road. Julie Pichkurenko, 24, said: “Nothing was more important to Anna than those close to her. “I believe that Anna is alive in every single one of her friends and colleagues. “Everyone who works at Enigma Beauty Salon and Spa shared amazing memories with her.” Sergeeva had booked a last-minute ticket to the city of Rostov-on-Don, where she had lived for five years before moving to the UAE. “She told me that she misses her family so much,” Pichkurenko added. Australian Joey Mamed, 23, said: “Remembering Anna’s laughter and happiness is what has me holding myself together after this tragic incident. She was one of my best friends. I can’t believe I will not see her every day.” 7DAYS reported yesterday how her friend Malik Mubeen said Sergeeva had only been working for three months in Dubai. He said she was sending money home to her mother and 11-year-old brother, who relied on her as the main breadwinner for the family as she was the only one who worked. Her colleagues at Enigma Salon and Spa had paid a tribute to her in the wake of the accident by having a picture of her along with a bouquet of flowers on display in the salon. The words “We remember, love, mourn. May the memory of you live forever” were written on the picture, which was also posted up on social media sites. The 25-year-old had posted a selfie from her seat on the flydubai plane as she prepared to fly home to see her family for the first time in six months.
