Flydubai crew member planned move home
A flight attendant killed in the flydubai plane crash was looking forward to a new life in her home country after years of hard work and saving, her brother said.
Jorge Delacruz said his sister Laura Patricia Delacruz, who died alongside 61 others when the aircraft crashed in southern Russia last Saturday, had been saving to build a house in Bogota with her husband in the El Silencio de Barranquilla area.
Speaking to 7DAYS from the northern Colombian city of Sabanalarga, her brother said the family doesn’t expect she will get a proper burial, as investigators confirmed that only pieces of her body remain.
“I don’t think there will be a burial because they confirmed that all that remains of her is body parts,” Jorge said.

Jorge added that a shrine had been set up in the family home and a mass was held for her yesterday.
“She was the best sister,” he said. “She was very loving and called home every day.
“I remember, she came in December and brought gifts for us all, the whole family.
“She always wanted to be a flight attendant.
“She fulfilled her dream, to become one and see the world. She is the godmother of my son.”
Laura’s mother and brother were flown to Dubai last week to be with her husband Andres Ruiz Diaz, also a flight attendant.
Jorge said his sister’s husband has understandably struggled to come to terms with her death since the crash last week.
Jorge said: “He can’t accept the situation. He doesn’t go to the apartment where they lived."
Following a mass in Dubai, Laura’s other brother Raul Delacruz Roca said: “Many thanks
