WARNING OVER RENT SQUEEZE
A team from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has arrived in Somalia to distribute urgent aid to 10,000 people in the province of Borama who have been displaced by the flooding that has ravaged the district. The campaign is in implementation of the directives of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. A spokesman from the organisation told news agency WAM that the foundation has so far distributed 2,500 food parcels containing water, sugar, flour, and dates to those affected, and is in the process of preparing another 5,000 aid baskets for distribution. This follows on from a warning by the United Nations that 58,000 children will die if action is not taken.
