Lloris insists Arsenal are still in the title race
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has refused to rule Arsenal out of the title race despite the Gunners sitting 11 points behind league leaders Leicester. Tottenham are five points adrift of Claudio Ranieri’s side and will look to try and close the gap this Saturday when they face an inconsistent Liverpool side. Arsenal are a further six points behind Spurs, however, due to their game in hand Lloris believes Spurs’ north London rivals are still in the title picture. “We can talk a bit about Arsenal as well,” said Lloris. “They are behind us but have played one less game so I think the key is to be focused on ourselves, don’t think about the other teams.” Following the trip to Anfield, Tottenham face another tough test as they host Manchester United. The two games represent a stern challenge and could be pivotal as Spurs look to win a first league title since 1961. “We have two tough games ahead with Liverpool away and United at home and maybe we will see a bit more after those games” added Lloris. “In football anything is possible so we just need to play games and enjoy it with our fans.” Liverpool host Spurs at 8.30pm UAE time on Saturday, while Leicester play Southampton on Sunday at 4.30pm.
