Six men have gone on trial accused of kidnapping and raping two women at gunpoint. Three of the suspects appeared before Sharjah Criminal Court, while the other three did not show up. The hearing was presided over by Judge Yaqoub Al Hammadai, who adjourned the trial to bring the other suspects before the court. The suspects, all Emiratis, kidnapped the two women, both Russian, and took them to an apartment in Sharjah. The victims were travelling in a taxi when it was allegedly intercepted by the six men.
