Al Nahda residents puts spotlight on community
I live in Al Nahda 1 and recently there have been some roadworks going on to improve the roads, sidewalks and lights. They have made many car parks, two-lane roads and many roundabouts, but the problem is THERE IS ONLY ONE EXIT. So, it does not matter how many roads they build because in the morning it still takes 40 minutes to get out of Al Nahda 1. Also there is a huge sand strip between Sharjah and Dubai that I call ‘No man’s land’ because there is no development and every day hundreds of people cross this strip - mothers with baby carts having to push them on sand, huge holes, no pavement. It looks like the slums of a developing country. Another concern is a lack of public parks, kids forced to play in car parks. I have a 9 month baby and if I want to take him out to play I have to either drive to the nearest pond park or to the Al Mamzar beach. In the end I don’t know if writing this will help improve things but there should be more consideration in the planning.
