Firm wins right to use iPhone on its products
Apple Inc has lost a legal fight with a Chinese company that a Beijing court says is allowed to use the iPhone name on its products. An official legal newspaper said the Beijing Municipal Higher People’s Court ruled Apple failed to prove iPhone was well-known in China before the local company applied for a trademark with that name in 2007. The Legal Daily said the ruling issued in late April allows Xintong Tiandi Technology to keep using the iPhone brand. The company sells handbags, mobile phone cases and other leather goods with that name.
