Volunteers have bottle to help labourers

7 Days in Dubai - - NEWS -

Volunteers from The Sameness Project took to the streets yesterday morning to provide labourers with drinking water. A statement on the organisation’s website said: “The main aim of Water for Workers is the engagement and interaction between those handing out water and the workers receiving it. “Cold water is nice but it’s the thank yous, handshakes

and small conversations with the workers that help erase the lines that separate and create the moment of sameness.” The project started in 2011 when “on a boiling hot summer day in 2011 we found ourselves with a cold bin full of water bottles. “Driving home we spotted the typical Dubai working crews keeping the gardens and the streets pretty. So we stopped and asked them if they wanted a drink. “Short answer: Yes.”
