The great summer escape is looming and UAE residents may be in for a boon when it comes to exchange rates.

A strong dollar, to which the dirham is pegged, means your cash could go considerably further - if you choose the right destination.

Currency exchange firm Travelex has listed the top destinations where dirham-earning UAE residents can currently get more “bang for their buck”. Topping the chart is Namibia and South Africa.

Holidaymakers heading there can expect to get 20 per cent more Namibian dollars and South African rand than they would have received last May.

Brazil, Mexico and Tanzania make up the top five and Malaysia, New Zealand, Poland, Thailand and the Philippines complete the top ten, so check out the best and get planning that trip.
