Letter about junk mail overload prompts resident to take action on flyers

7 Days in Dubai - - LIFE -

In response to Hannelie Muller’s letter ‘How can we put an end to the junk mail overload’ (May 11), I was so fed up with the advertising material on our gate that I emailed Dubai Municipality last November to request a ban on all but 7DAYS deliveries, but didn’t even receive an acknowledgement. Hannelie’s letter has prompted me to try again, via the website www.dm.gov.ae under the ‘Have Your Say’ page. Perhaps others would like to have their say too? SEJ Dubai ensuring plenty of space in both shelters for commuters when waiting for their ride. Not only that, the Smart Shelters, which provide on-the-go products and services, are operated by Smart Shelter, in partnership with RTA and Right Angle Media, and we got together to jointly conduct a survey among commuters before the launch. We asked whether they preferred seating space or valued-added services, such as mobile re-charging. The majority of respondents said they wanted services, not seating. We are pleased that commuters, as well as passers-by are now taking advantage of the convenience stores on their doorstep. Residents will see more of the Smart Shelters across the city in future. Rohit Dalmia Managing Director, Smart Shelter
