In­spec­tors sniff out rot­ten fish at mar­kets

In­spec­tors from Dubai Mu­nic­i­pal­ity seized this batch of rot­ten fish dur­ing a crack down on pop-up mar­kets around labourer ac­com­mo­da­tion. The au­thor­ity pub­lished sev­eral pho­tos on In­sta­gram yes­ter­day of the items they found. As well as the fish there were also what ap­peared to be coun­ter­feit goods. In the post ac­com­pa­ny­ing the pho­tos, the mu­nic­i­pal­ity said: “In the frame­work of com­bat­ing the ran­dom mar­kets phe­nom­e­non in work­ers’ res­i­den­tial ar­eas, The En­vi­ron­men­tal Emer­gency Of­fice at Dubai Mu­nic­i­pal­ity in co­or­di­na­tion with Waste Man­age­ment Depart­ment or­gan­ised on May 14 a cam­paign on mar­kets at Al Quoz. “Ad­di­tion­ally, they con­fis­cated and de­stroyed the rot­ten food and cor­rupted goods in the mar­ket.” No fur­ther de­tails were re­leased.
