Inspectors sniff out rotten fish at markets
Inspectors from Dubai Municipality seized this batch of rotten fish during a crack down on pop-up markets around labourer accommodation. The authority published several photos on Instagram yesterday of the items they found. As well as the fish there were also what appeared to be counterfeit goods. In the post accompanying the photos, the municipality said: “In the framework of combating the random markets phenomenon in workers’ residential areas, The Environmental Emergency Office at Dubai Municipality in coordination with Waste Management Department organised on May 14 a campaign on markets at Al Quoz. “Additionally, they confiscated and destroyed the rotten food and corrupted goods in the market.” No further details were released.
