A hospital group has hit out at unscrupulous recruitment agencies it says have been using its name to extract cash from jobseekers.

Aster DM Healthcare said it is taking legal action against online recruiters pretending to be looking for medical staff and has reported the matter to Dubai Police.

Aster said fraudulent recruiters abroad are using its name and similar internet addresses and emails to target jobseekrs in countries including India, Pakistan, Philippines, New Zealand and Zimbabwe.

Prospective job candidates are asked for cash as part of the application.

“We urge job seekers not to fall prey to such illegal recruitment activity and to alert us of any such bogus schemes,” said Ratnesh Sharma, the Group Chief Human Resources Officer at Aster DM Healthcare.

“We strongly condemn such illegal activity and we do not take any recruitment fee from jobseekers.”

We condemn it and do not take recruitment fees from jobseekers – Aster Group HR chief
