FNC member calls for fair car insurance for drivers aged 18-25

“I feel it is fair to charge extra for young drivers. They are less experienced and generally take more risks. This is the norm worldwide. Firms need to take into account the risks of insuring and balance it out. It’s not just a snap decision made independently by insurance companies. All the global statistics prove younger drivers are higher risk. Higher risk equals higher premium.”

“Your age and your driving record predict your chances of causing an accident. If you are a higher risk, your rates should be higher. It’s like this all over the world. If all drivers pay the same rates, there is little incentive to keep a clean record. Insurance companies need to drop the rates for experienced drivers who have had no incidents, and increase them for everyone else.”
