European journey leaves the Hammers homeless
West Ham’s new Olympic Stadium will not be ready in time for the Hammers’ opening game in the Europa League. Slaven Bilic’s side gained a place in the qualifying rounds of the competition after Manchester United won the FA Cup on Saturday. However, the third qualifying round first leg is scheduled for July 28 and the new ground cannot be used until August. The draw takes place on July 15 and West Ham would have less than two weeks to find a solution. They could request the first leg is played away from home or they will have to play at an alternative venue.
