‘No salary for three months, but we get fined if we don’t turn up for work’

“The only way to solve this issue and not let this happen to anyone in UAE is that if the company is found delaying the salary of an employee, the Ministry of Labour should force the company to pay thrice the amount of salary for the months delayed. Also the victim should be offered job placement/offer by the Ministry of Labour in case the previous employer decides to fire his/her employee. The company should be warned and the refundable security fee paid by the company should be withheld by the ministry as punishment.”

“Why do people put up with this? Sometimes you are your worse enemy! As soon as you are not paid, why do you even go to work the next day, let alone go to work for the next two months without further pay. I’m sorry but until you take responsibility for what you should be legally entitled to, then you only have yourself to blame.”
