‘Drug mule’ critically ill on flight
An Emirates flight from Brazil to Dubai had to be diverted after a suspected drug smuggler who had ingested a cocaine package became critically ill. Nigerian media reported that flight EK262 from Sao Paulo landed in Lagos and the man was rushed to hospital. Screenings found four passengers had drugs in his stomach. Nigeria’s Today newspaper quoted drug agency Commander Ahmadu Garba as saying that the passenger complained of “severe abdominal pains” before suffering three seizures. Emirates confirmed the flight diversion took place.
