Jew­ellery firm sparkles at brand awards

Jew­ellery re­tailer Mal­abar has been named the Brand of the Year at the 12th an­nual Su­per­brands awards in Dubai. Judges said the firm re­mained “one of the most trusted brands in In­dia and the GCC” in the jew­ellery in­dus­try. Some 2,000 com­pa­nies en­tered and 62 were ac­cepted by a panel of judges to use the name ‘Su­per­brand’. A range of other com­pa­nies and or­gan­i­sa­tions won in­di­vid­ual cat­e­gories, in­clud­ing RAK Hospi­tal in the health­care sec­tion. Mike English, Di­rec­tor, Su­per­brands Mid­dle East said: “The Brand has, over the years, en­joyed a rep­utable po­si­tion as one of the most trusted brands in In­dia and GCC in the jew­ellery seg­ment. “Mal­abar Gold And Di­a­monds scored the high­est points amongst all the brands and we would like to con­grat­u­late them and wish them con­tin­ued success as they con­tinue to keep their obli­ga­tion to con­sumers as well as to so­ci­ety.” Es­tab­lished in 1993 in Ker­ala, Mal­abar has a net­work of 150 out­lets spread across nine coun­tries and fac­to­ries across In­dia. Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Min­is­ter of In­ter­na­tional Co­op­er­a­tion and De­vel­op­ment, and Colm Mclough­lin, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of Dubai Duty Free, are among the Su­per­brand coun­cil mem­bers in­volved in the awards.
