Jewellery firm sparkles at brand awards
Jewellery retailer Malabar has been named the Brand of the Year at the 12th annual Superbrands awards in Dubai. Judges said the firm remained “one of the most trusted brands in India and the GCC” in the jewellery industry. Some 2,000 companies entered and 62 were accepted by a panel of judges to use the name ‘Superbrand’. A range of other companies and organisations won individual categories, including RAK Hospital in the healthcare section. Mike English, Director, Superbrands Middle East said: “The Brand has, over the years, enjoyed a reputable position as one of the most trusted brands in India and GCC in the jewellery segment. “Malabar Gold And Diamonds scored the highest points amongst all the brands and we would like to congratulate them and wish them continued success as they continue to keep their obligation to consumers as well as to society.” Established in 1993 in Kerala, Malabar has a network of 150 outlets spread across nine countries and factories across India. Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, and Colm Mcloughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, are among the Superbrand council members involved in the awards.
