Stow­away to be sent back

A teenage stow­away found in the cargo hold of an Emi­rates flight from China to Dubai has been re­ferred to pub­lic pros­e­cu­tion. A source at Dubai Po­lice said the in­ves­ti­ga­tion was on­go­ing and they are wait­ing for the Chi­nese au­thor­i­ties to re­spond. “At the end and af­ter fin­ish­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, he will be de­ported to his coun­try and his name put on a black­list to stop him re­turn­ing to the UAE again,” the po­lice of­fi­cer said. The 16-year-old Chi­nese boy was found on board flight EK303 from Shanghai af­ter it landed in Dubai on Fri­day. He had hid­den among the lug­gage dur­ing the nine-hour flight, which he told po­lice made for a “com­fort­able” ride. Chi­nese me­dia re­ported that the boy is called Xu and is from Bazhong in the Sichuan prov­ince in south­west China. It was re­ported that the teenager was com­ing to Dubai look­ing to make money as a beg­gar.
