Stowaway to be sent back
A teenage stowaway found in the cargo hold of an Emirates flight from China to Dubai has been referred to public prosecution. A source at Dubai Police said the investigation was ongoing and they are waiting for the Chinese authorities to respond. “At the end and after finishing the investigation, he will be deported to his country and his name put on a blacklist to stop him returning to the UAE again,” the police officer said. The 16-year-old Chinese boy was found on board flight EK303 from Shanghai after it landed in Dubai on Friday. He had hidden among the luggage during the nine-hour flight, which he told police made for a “comfortable” ride. Chinese media reported that the boy is called Xu and is from Bazhong in the Sichuan province in southwest China. It was reported that the teenager was coming to Dubai looking to make money as a beggar.
