Pardon for Ramadan
HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President, has ordered the release of 1,010 prisoners being held in UAE before the Holy Month of Ramadan. State news agency WAM reported that the chosen prisoners have shown discipline and are ready to begin a new life. The order came ahead of Ramadan next week, in order to ensure prisoners reunite with their families, WAM reported yesterday. Last year, the number of pardoned prisoners stood at 1,700, with 734 released from Dubai alone.
