Bakeries fined for poor hygiene
Four bakeries have been fined for operating in unhygienic conditions after authorities found rodents and pests on their premises. Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) said the facilities were caught during inspection raids on 32 bakeries across the emirate. While some bakeries were found violating general cleanliness, others were booked for bad food handling. Warnings were also issued to 22 facilities for not meeting food safety standards. Al Yousef Al Saad, acting director of the communication and community service division at ADFCA, said the food control authority will continue to carry out routine and surprise inspections to ensure that food safety standards are not disregarded.
