Bumbling thieves caught with pots
Two cleaners have admitted stealing two 2kg pots of honey from a stall at Global Village.
Dubai Court of First Instance was told the two Pakistani men, aged 21 and 30, took the produce, worth Dhs300, from a Yemeni stall, along with bracelets and rings from other stores.
The 30-year old stall manager did not realise it was gone until March 8, when he received a call from a friend and that goods from shops in the Yemen pavilion had been found.
“I was curious to see what had been found,” he testified. “I went to the police office and saw two jars of honey - my shop label was on the jars.
“I didn’t even know that they stole from my shop.” Prosecutors said that Dubai Police received a series of complaints about minor thefts happening in the Yemeni pavilion.
