Bum­bling thieves caught with pots

Two clean­ers have ad­mit­ted steal­ing two 2kg pots of honey from a stall at Global Vil­lage.

Dubai Court of First In­stance was told the two Pak­istani men, aged 21 and 30, took the pro­duce, worth Dhs300, from a Ye­meni stall, along with bracelets and rings from other stores.

The 30-year old stall man­ager did not re­alise it was gone un­til March 8, when he re­ceived a call from a friend and that goods from shops in the Ye­men pav­il­ion had been found.

“I was cu­ri­ous to see what had been found,” he tes­ti­fied. “I went to the po­lice of­fice and saw two jars of honey - my shop la­bel was on the jars.

“I didn’t even know that they stole from my shop.” Pros­e­cu­tors said that Dubai Po­lice re­ceived a se­ries of com­plaints about minor thefts hap­pen­ing in the Ye­meni pav­il­ion.
