An otterly brilliant party
Dubai resident Olga Zolotova has made a habit of taking on big challenges. And the fitness enthusiast is hoping to recruit some fellow adventurers for her next big mission.
The Russian and fellow adventurer Mohamad Khalaf (both pictured below) are set climb Mount Kilimanjaro on July 14, dedicating the challenge to ideas of acceptance, freedom, belief and cooperation in the UAE. For that reason, they are hoping to enlist a multicultural crew to accompany them on the big climb in Tanzania, which measures up at 5,895 metres tall.
Olga, 25, has previously cycled 400km solo across the emirates in 24 hours, ran 200km in 24 hours and also completed seven ultra marathons in seven days to support a number of children’s campaigns. The assistant manager at Mitsui&Co has been preparing for this test with some tough stair climbs. She said: “I started doing these challenges when I came to the UAE. When I got involved in the sport community I saw people doing really great things, covering hundreds of kilometres, and I started trying to do the same after realising that you can do something bigger. If you can do something bigger, you should dedicate it to matters that are important.”
The trip will take seven days and anyone interested in joining the party should email firstname.lastname@example.org
Birthday boys and girls can now celebrate their special day with a very important guest - an otter from the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. Up to 19 guests can join the party behind the scenes at the otter enclosure for an educational and informative day where the birthday boy or girl can assist staff on special training. Three times daily excluding Wednesdays, call 04 448 5200.
