Don’t condemn stray animals, do something to help instead

7 Days in Dubai - - DEAR 7 DAYS... -

In response to the letter ‘Worry about strays not pets’ I think I am speaking on behalf of so many animal lovers here in the UAE when I say that the reader has given a very biased/unapprised view of the animals, especially strays here in UAE. Basically the earth belongs to all of us. Just the fact that we consider ourselves to be a more advanced species (again this is debatable) does not give us the right to eliminate whatever we think doesn’t conform to our ideologies. This applies to animals and plants alike. Why are stray animals being treated like pests in this country? Why not do something about it and get them off the streets? Open your doors to these souls. They will be thankful to you for giving them a roof over their heads to keep them safe and food to keep them healthy. I was raised by parents who believed in the value of all lives. We took in numerous cats, dogs and animals of all species, injured, starving, unhealthy and have nursed them back
