Obaida’s killer in court

The man who has al­legedly con­fessed to the bru­tal killing of a young boy from Shar­jah is due to ap­pear be­fore Dubai Court of First In­stance to­day. Sources At Dubai Courts said the first hear­ing for the Jor­da­nian killer will be this morn­ing. Nedal Issa Ab­dul­lah, the 48-year-old de­fen­dant, will face charges of pre­med­i­tated mur­der, kid­nap­ping a per­son and lock­ing him up and phys­i­cal abuse. He will also be charged with rape, con­sum­ing al­co­hol without a li­cence and driv­ing while un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol. Po­lice say Obaida Al Aqrabawi was ab­ducted from out­side his Shar­jah home last month and found stran­gled in Dubai’s Al Warqa sub­urb. His death was greeted with shock by the lo­cal com­mu­nity. At­tor­ney Gen­eral Is­sam Issa Al Hu­maidan said they will seek the death sen­tence for the killer if he is con­victed.
