New case of MERS in Abu Dhabi
Health Authority Abu Dhabi says it is treating a patient for a new case of Coronavirus (MERS-CoV). The organisation, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, said it has taken all necessary precautionary measures set out by the World Health Organisation ( WHO). It gave no further details as to the nationality or age of the patient. On Sunday, the WHO said Saudi Arabia had notified of six new cases, including one death. The 59-year-old man died on June 12, six days after his admission to hospital. Authorities said he had frequent exposure to camels and consumption of raw milk. Five others remain in hospital, including a 49-year-old woman from Buridah city, who is in a critical condition in the ICU. Since September 2012, the WHO has been notified of 1,733 confirmed cases of MERS-CoV, and 628 deaths in 27 countries.
